Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a concept referring to the process of managing the entire lifecycle of a product. This concept improve the collaboration between all members that participate in the product lifecycle process (from conception, through design and production, to service and disposal).

This new concept of product development eliminate barriers of isolated product development process by becoming a parallel and collaborative process. All persons involved get access to the right information in the right moment.

In this moment on the market are many frameworks of solutions designed to support an integrated PLM process. What is missing in the actual solutions available on the market today, in our opinion, is flexibility and customer focus. Most of the solutions are focusing only on very big companies (OEM's) and the medium and small businesses are let outside, because the solutions are very expensive and very difficult to implement.
